Automatic tensile tester for elastomeric yarns (Elastane, Spandex), elastic combination yarns and elastic fabrics
STATIMAT MEL Tensile tests on elastomeric yarns (Spandex) are in general performed with a very low pretension of 0,01 cN/tex (1 mg/dtex). In the past it was not possible to approach this low pretension with automatic tensile testers. Textechno's new STATIMAT MEL overcomes this problem by means of a high-resolution (10 µN equal to 1 mg) load cell and a special software algorithm. For elastic core and combination yarns, testing with low pretension allows to evaluate the tension of the Spandex core in the yarn and to achieve a better correlation between the measured elastic properties and the behavior and comfort of the final knitted or woven fabric. STATIMAT MEL can also be used for non-elastic spun- and filament yarns according to ISO 2062 Optional clamps BISFA rotary clamp In addition to the fully automatic tests on yarn the STATIMAT MEL can be equipped with other clamps and sample holders. These are the BISFA-standardized Textechno rotary clamp for high-precision tensile tests on one yarn loop, a device for simultaneous hysteresis testing on ten yarn loops, as well as clamps for hysteresis testing on woven and knitted fabrics.Technical dataLoad cell: resolution 10 µN (1 mg), range 32 N (3.2 kg)
