The fully automatic fibre length measuring instrument LENGTHCONTROL (LCT), developed by Trützschler GmbH & Co KG, Mönchengladbach, Germany, is exclusively sold and serviced by TEXTECHNO Herbert Stein GmbH & Co. KG in Mönchengladbach from now on.

The innovative staple-fibre length tester, which was exhibited at ITMA Birmingham, is not designed as a laboratory device, but as a fully automatic at-line instrument to be used in production. The LENGTHCONTROL does not only determine classical length results like staple length and short-fibre content, but also a number of new parameters. In addition – by means of an integrated expert system – the instrument gives recommendations for settings of carding machines and drawing frames and is the answer to the leak of expertise in many spinning plants.

A brand-new software for the instrument allows to test very short sliver sections. Now, in connection with an additional laboratory carding device, also raw cotton can be tested.
