As the first testing instrument world-wide, the fibre length- and strength tester FIBROTEST from Textechno Herbert Stein GmbH & Co. KG, Germany received an official and full recognition from the International Committee on Cotton Testing Methods (ICCTM), a Committee of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF; see itmf.org).
Textechno developed FIBROTEST primarily for spinners, but its flexible parameter settings also attract research institutes. The instrument measures fibre length distribution and strength through direct measurement and relative calibration with cotton. It works successfully with cotton and cottonized linen and supports fibre length testing on any fibre type up to about 200 mm.
